In short: your videos and the audio made from them never leave your device. We have no accounts and no cookies, we count visits anonymously without identifying you, and we do not collect or sell any personal data.
Your videos and audio files
MP4toMP3 converts files entirely inside your web browser, on your own phone or computer. When you choose a video, it is read from your device, its audio is decoded by your browser and encoded by an MP3 encoder running in the page (WebAssembly), and the result is given back to you to save. Your files are never uploaded, and no copy of them, their contents or their metadata (such as the file name or title) is sent to us or to anyone else. We cannot see or hear your files.
Information we collect
We do not collect personal information. There is no sign-up, no account, no contact form and no advertising on this site.
Visit statistics
To see how many people use the site, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first tool. It does not use cookies, does not store anything on your device, does not fingerprint your browser and does not follow you across other websites. It only gives us anonymous totals, such as page views, the referring website, country, browser and device type. It never sees your files. Nothing is counted while you use the app offline.
Cookies and local storage
We do not use cookies. To make the app work offline, your browser stores a copy of the app itself (the page, the media engine, the MP3 encoder and the icons) using a standard feature called a service worker cache. This copy contains no information about you or your files. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, when your browser downloads the page, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. This happens only when the app files are downloaded, never with your files. Cloudflare handles this data under its own privacy policy; we do not use it to identify you.
Third parties
We do not share or sell any data, because we do not collect any. The media engine (Mediabunny), the MP3 encoder (LAME) and the ZIP library are served from this site itself, not loaded from another company's servers.
Children
The site does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
